This is the first thing I have read about Britney that makes some sense...
Britney Spears allegedly shaved her head because Kevin Federline was threatening to test her hair for drugs. K-Fed was at Britney's Malibu mansion last Friday when she got back from rehab and the two got into a huge fight. A source says:
"They had a huge argument. Kevin threatened Britney that he was going to have people test her hair to find out exactly what she's been up to. She was so scared. That was what made her have her head shaved."
And after shaving her hair Friday she went to the Mondrian Hotel in an electric blue wig where sources say they saw her shaving her legs at the pool and crying after she was refused a room.
"She didn't have any credit cards, she didn't have any cash... I don't even believe she had any I.D.," dished US Weekly's Katrina Szish. "She was depressed and confused. The general consensus is we're seeing Britney have a breakdown before our very eyes."
Jesus, it's a good thing K-Fed didn't threaten to test Britney's urine. Otherwise instead of checking into rehab we'd be reading about how she died in a mysterious bladder accident after deciding "she didn't need to pee anymore. Ever."

it a good theory- however- they test the root of the hair- shaving her head would do her no good in passing this test
even an eyebrow hair could be used

Yes, I agree, but if she is really having a breakdown, she probably wasn't thinking logically. Plus - all her hair that she shaved off - where is that? who has it? did she think of that either?

Not old hairs - you need to pluck hair when you think the person's been using b/c the drug residue will be found in the follicles.

I'm sorry, but the story-teller is making a BIG assumption....that K-Fed was smart enough to even think of checking her hair follicles! Guess someone's been watching a lot of CSI on TV!

Also, a court could order a blood test. Drugs stay in the system for a while afterwards.

All you have to do is get a job at Blockbuster to know that you can drug test through hair, it's pretty common knowledge, not that I am giving KFED any credit! However, he IS looking like the more stable parent right now....

Yes, I agree, but if she is really having a breakdown, she probably wasn't thinking logically. Plus - all her hair that she shaved off - where is that? who has it? did she think of that either?
Right, we were talking about this at lunch today. It is possible that she thought she was saving herself froma drug test b/c if she panicked & did not bother to research it then it seems like a reasonable way to avoid the test. She also panicked AFTER she left the salon & went back to ask for her hair.

not all. some drugs are only present for 72 hours, and there are ways to flush your blood to mask certain drugs.

I doubt that she did- I think it's a good theory
I was simply stating the fact that it wouldn't work- I didn't you needed the root either until my DH pointed it out to me
and it's not like her hair is even her hair- it's all extensions
