this doormat said no, and it paid off
yes, i have come to the acceptance that i've been a doormat for the majority of my life.
yesterday, a co-worker b!tched and moaned about something where i was in the right and he was wrong. the "old" me would have just smiled and taken it and then i would have changed my way of doing my job to keep him happy.
not yesterday.
i told him!!
i, very politely and respectfully, told him that i do my best to do my job correctly and that there are things we can't control. if he doesn't like it, then we can coordinate a meeting with our boss for him to air his grievances.
this morning, the co-worker came up to me and politely apologized for his nasty text/email from yesterday. he even came up with a good way for us to communicate so he can get info faster... and since it doesn't create more work for me, i said ok.
this doormat stood up for herself and got a positive result.
watch out world, i'm on fire
