I would leave a note on the windshield asking him to leave some more space. If he's parking at night he might not be fully aware of how close he is parking to your car.

I would do the same or park backwards so the door you use is not on his side.

I would back in and park very close to his door. (meaning the line)
Make sure you get the license plate before you do this.

I would park in a different spot next time, if you could. I would just avoid where he usually parks.
