My husband told our friends we could hang out the night before our cruise and I was like ummmm...no we can not. He's like pack early 
Men don't get it as much of the planning is always on the woman.
OMG My DH is always like- why are you so stressed out for trips?
Um, let's see. Because I have to pack myself, make sure my daughter is packed properly, pack all the toiltrees, pack all the beach gear, pack all the stuff for the kitchenette like coffee pods, creamer, snacks, booze, etc, make sure we have sunscreen, medications, vitamins, a garment steamer, q tips, lotion, etc.
And he has to throw his underwear, socks, bathing suit and a few shirts in a bag 10 minutes before we leave.
But rest assured we'll be on the trip and he'll ask me for a tweezer or a band aid, or Benadryl cream for an itch, or bug spray or Truvia packets for coffee, or some other random item and I will have it every.single.time. Does he think those things just MAGICALLY appear? Um, no, I remember them. have lists of things to help me remember. I shop for weeks before to get these things.
So yes, that's why I'm so stressed out with packing!
OK, vent over! 
As you can see we have a trip coming up!
Yes, yes, yes.
I have printed out lists for all of us but you KNOW I will be saying, did you remember this or that.
Too funny. Very true! I am also a crazy one making sure house is set for us being gone.

Oh yes, I always have someone coming to feed my cats so I have to make sure the house is presentable as well
It is the same for me and I need to worry about myself and all three kids and most of the logistics about our trips. AND... we travel an insane amount. I used to travel for work a lot so I am used to the packing and unpacking and I have learned not to stress about forgetting one or two things (because there is always something that we forget). I am seriously the definition of Type A but I have learned to just chill out a little about vacations. I know people that pack for weeks in advance but I just can't live like that. HOWEVER, I completely stress about oversleeping for flights so I definitely wouldn't want a late night if I had to be up at 4am. Not to mention that it will ruin the first day of vacation if you are really tired.

Haha. I left that stuff to my ex-H. I’m not divorced because of that (he did other horrible stuff), but I basically left him in the cold with that stuff. I remember my ex-MIL telling me that it was my job to hold his passport and pack his shit. Yeah, no.
I remember saying I will not do his laundry if he cannot clean his tissues out of his pockets. He had do his laundry for years because of that. I so remember meeting up with him after we separated and he was complaining he had to clean and cook. Not my problem!
Edit: I don’t know how women put up with men like this. It literally drove me insane.
