I guess the satellites that Trump put in the atmosphere to redirect the hurricanes are a no go in the ice and snow department. I guess TX decided not to winterize those either. (this is a conspiracy theory that was shared with me by a QAnon)

I don't think I am any better than anyone who chooses not to get the vaccine. I don't care what you do. But for someone to sit there and say anyone who chooses to get the vaccine is a sheep, says over and over again how she isn't even sure they work (what does 95% efficacy mean to her, I have no idea), and say she believes everything should be open the way it was in February 2020, that I take major issue with. Not for me, this is an anonymous message board and don't take advice from anyone on here. But it is people like her who will convince people not to take it who may be on the fence, and guess what? When the virus surges again and we are back in a shutdown, she will be the first one to complain that she should be allowed to choose to do whatever the hell she wants. It is maddening.
I am not a better person than you because you are not taking the vaccine. But at least acknowledge this is a public health crisis and we can't all do whatever we want right now, as much as we ALL want to.

But you are referring to one poster. The majority who don’t want to get the vaccine are not using the “sheep” logic to attack people. However there are plenty of posters attacking others and saying dumb sh!t to people who choose not to get this vaccine.
Go back and read all the threads and you will see it. And countless times people refer to how they are doing this for humanity, the greater good etc.
Maybe not you, so then my post won’t refer to you but it surely is warranted and refers to many on this site.
ETA: I think it’s a personal choice and I also don’t think this is a hard concept to have such nasty debates about it. I know so many people who got the vaccine, they know I’m not getting it. It’s really not the end of the world or ends in a brawl.

If I am following your logic, are you saying people who don’t want this vaccine can’t say that the elderly and immune compromised should get the shot to protect themselves? If they are that scare of the virus then get the the damn shot.
People on this thread are saying we are killing society by not getting this shot and we need to protect others but it’s ok if the elderly and the ones mostly effected don’t get it? Why do I have to protect others who dont want to get it themselves?
At the end of the days it’s everyone choice and let’s be honest everyone is self serving in some capacity. I wish people would stop using the “I’m doing this for the greater good”. No you aren’t!! I want to add, I am one of the ones who should get the vaccine. I don’t want it right now and now that I’ve actually had it, I am comfortable waiting. I will never expect anyone to get a vaccine they are not comfortable with for me. To help protect me. That’s insane.

I forgot to mention that when I asked her if she disagreed with my neutral statement that nobody is better or smarter than anyone else for making their personal decision to take/decline the vaccine and nobody is a sheep in this situation her response was she's free to think anybody is a sheep for whatever reason she wants to. I told her she certainly could, but don't act surprised if people call you out.
I explained that if I choose to decline the vaccine that doesn't make me smarter than a police officer who chooses to get it because he hasn't had the privilege to work from the comforts of home this whole time. And vice versa.
She responsed that EVERYBODY who chooses to get it is a sheep regardless of their reasoning because they did it out of pressure and not thinking for themselves. She's unable or unwilling to differentiate that everyone has different circumstances that influences the choice they make. But when naturalmama asked about the sick and elderly she didn't say they were sheep for getting the vaccine or just like every other individual thinker they shouldn't take the garbage vaccine she said this population is the first to get the vaccine so she's unsure why this particular population is even being asked about.

Effective means you will not get sick or just slightly and there is not enough research IMO to prove that. We don’t even know yet how many shots we need to get and how long they last.
I am not trying to convince anyone but I can assure that the majority of people don’t do research as at any given time go on Facebook and look at a headline, read the story and see what comments follow. Most read the headline. How many people ask questions on social media that they could easily find by a google search? How about the ones who ask about school things that are right there on the school site? People are lazy and want others to do things for them. They hear ooooo this will cure Covid and day they need it too. I need to get a vaccine like everyone else, make sure I get that pic on Facebook for attention.
Yes, many like yourself might have done research and feel this is this best for you. That is fine. How many in this board have come out blatantly and told posters who won’t get the vaccine now that they are selfish and it will be all their fault when things don’t go back to normal? The same bullies that try to tell people what to do and not to do. Go back and read h th e posts if you think I am making this up.
Remember, money and education can’t buy common sense. I don’t care how educated you are. That doesn’t mean you are any smarter than the next person.

I'm not debating anything with you about the vaccine. I'm saying nobody is better or smarter than anyone else when it comes to choosing to take or choosing to decline this vaccine. This is a neutral statement. I asked if you agreed or disagreed with this neutral statement and you claimed I never asked the question lol so I guess while I'm here I'll ask again. If I am following your logic, are you saying people who don’t want this vaccine can’t say that the elderly and immune compromised should get the shot to protect themselves? If they are that scare of the virus then get the the damn shot.

1. No I never said solely. I know many who have gotten it for many reasons. Yes some are sheep and were pressured. I never said all.
2. That could be for anything yes.
3. Agree no one is better or smarter for their decision. It is their decision no matter how they came about it. I don’t go around telling them they are wrong or selfish and I NEVER called anyone a moron nor ever would if they decide to get it.

I don't debate anything about this vaccine. In my opinion there's nothing to debate. I don’t discuss anything about this vaccine with people, online or in real life. I don't call anyone a sheep for taking it or a sheep for not taking it and I don't even care what their reasoning or thought process is or question their reasoning. I don't resort to condescension and question their ability to think deeply or passively or "just follow the crowd" to come about their personal decision based on their life's unique circumstances that differ from mine and everyone else's unique life circumstances.
It's not my business and I don't ask people what they're doing or what their decision is or what reasoning they used to come up with their decision. I don't ask them for advice to help me make my decision and I don't dispense advice to help other people make their decision.

1. No I never said solely. I know many who have gotten it for many reasons. Yes some are sheep and were pressured. I never said all.

3. Agree no one is better or smarter for their decision. It is their decision no matter how they came about it. I don’t go around telling them they are wrong or selfish and I NEVER called anyone a moron nor ever would if they decide to get it.

I don't debate anything about this vaccine. In my opinion there's nothing to debate. I don’t discuss anything about this vaccine with people, online or in real life. I don't call anyone a sheep for taking it or a sheep for not taking it and I don't even care what their reasoning or thought process is or question their reasoning. I don't resort to condescension and question their ability to think deeply or passively or "just follow the crowd" to come about their personal decision based on their life's unique circumstances that differ from mine and everyone else's unique life circumstances.
It's not my business and I don't ask people what they're doing or what their decision is or what reasoning they used to come up with their decision. I don't ask them for advice to help me make my decision and I don't dispense advice to help other people make their decision.

If you're referring to my reply, I made several posts in regards to vb's inconsistencies saying anybody who gets the vaccine is a sheep for injecting the poison because they can't think for themselves, but the elderly and sick are first to get the (garbage?) vaccine so she's unsure why naturalmama would even dare ask about that population (because they're dispensible anyway?). If she's saying the vaccine is garbage but this population is first in line for the garbage then they must be dispensible.
You'll see in those posts I said I respect everyone's choice to get the vaccine or to decline the vaccine. Get the vaccine, don't get the vaccine, 'you do you'. Like I also said, I'm not defending the vaccine or trashing it. I never have. My opinion on this, like many other things, is neutral. I don't discuss the vaccine with people irl either. Don't ask me for advice on this is my response to anyone who asks me for it. That's above my paygrade. I don't tell people what to do with their bodies or question their reasoning to get it/decline it. I don't need to know the choices you made or your reasons for making them. It's not my business. Oh and I also mentioned to her nobody is better or smarter than anyone else for the choice they made. I used police and teachers who would get it because they work with the public as an example. She didn't reply to that, but I didn't think she would. Everything seems one-sided and black and white with her about this.

I explained that if I choose to decline the vaccine that doesn't make me smarter than a police officer who chooses to get it because he hasn't had the privilege to work from the comforts of home this whole time. And vice versa.

I have been alive longer than you have and I don't plan to vaccinate as well as so many other family and friends I have because, as much as they know about Sars, this is still new and there has not been enough trial and error. You might not buy a car in the first year of production to get the kinks out but people are willing to take a vaccine that they don't even know what could happen. Makes no sense to me but I truly hope it all works out to get back to some normalcy. I have plans next year that I want to go through but I also don't limit what I do like many have.
