Re: teachers-field trips?

In the past our first graders have gone pumpkin picking, to see plays, garden city childrens museum, and on nature walks in a park. But now, everything has to be curriculum related so who knows where we will go this year!

Thanks! Yea, I'm also trying to do some curriculum related. We do usually go apple/pumpkin picking & to plays. We study mammals, all kinds of life cycles, birds (we hatch chicks) and wanted to incorporate some kind of field trips, thank you for the suggestionsChat Icon

Not sure where you teach, but the South Shore Nature Center in East Islip is a good place for science field trips. I think they charge $2 per student, and you choose the topic based on your curriculum.
