we have our set sides and have kept it that way when we go away but there have been times where we switch.

When we are in a hotel I like him to sleep closest to the door, though, so that when an intruder breaks in he can get DH first.

He has his own side that he needed to sleep on (left - nearest the door).
It was an argument in the beginning but then as much as it bugged me, I gave in. It seemed to be more important for him than it was to me.
It goes back to my life sentence theory. Since I signed on for life with this man, I'll save the fighting over more important things.

We have set sides of the bed - even if we are away. However, we will switch if we need to do so - like in the summer when I don't want to sleep directly in the path of the AC vent.

We have our "set sides" and by that I mean, DH sleeps on whatever side is closest to the door so that if a murderer comes into the room he can protect me. (no, Im not kidding...im seriously a little crazy like that LOL) So when we're home he sleeps on the left side...always. But when we go away somewhere, he always sleeps on whatever side is closest to the door.

We have set sides. Except we both prefer the right side. So we switch every six months - and we're hard core about it practically to the day.

in our old house which i lived in without for years we had set sides but he didn't have a choice. He got the side I didn't sleep on.
When we moved into our house I decided he should have the side closest to our bathroom, it works out great.
Sometimes we sleep in our guest room, its just a weird thing we do. We don't sleep on set sides in there though.

we have set sides. One a rare occasion we will switch for the night, but 99.9% of the time, we sleep on "our" side of the bed.

so do we BUT I finally agreed that he could have my side aka THE GOOD SIDE ONLY when we go away to bad so sad for him we just bought a house and we AINT EVER going away again

For 31 years I have slept on the left side of the bed and would never, ever change. He's suggested it a few times, but, couldn't get me to budge. That's my side and I'm sticking to it.

We have our set sides and once we tried switching. I just could not fall asleep or get comfortable  Needless to say we'll never do that again!
But when DH is not home I seem to have no problem taking up the entire bed and sleeping soundly
