Stress fracture UPDATE
Long story short, my knee has been really hurting me during, and especially after my workouts. My trainer pushed me to see an ortho to get it checked out. Drs office just called me to say my MRI showed a stress fracture and dr said to not workout at all and I have an appointment to see him on Saturday.
I freaked out bc should I really be waiting til Saturday? She said she can't say for sure but figures if it was a super serious fracture, I'd be seeing him ASAP
Dr Google says it's very common in athletes , etc and usually doesn't require surgery (unless it's a bad fracture) but maybe crutches and wrapped. Rest 4/6 weeks, etc
I'm extra freaked out bc when I saw dr originally they said to lighten up my workouts to 3x a week instead of 5 until I got MRI back. Which I did. But I work really hard during my workouts and now I'm wondering if i made it worse since the test last week. Especially that they called me to tell me to stop everything.
Anyone ever have this? Saturday feels like an eternity away
UPDATE:
Dr. has me staying off of that leg until Oct. 7th when I see him again. I am allowed to walk but only necessary walking. No long shopping trips, no carrying anything heavy. It's been tough and I gained a few pounds (I now tweaked my calorie intake and I'm finally losing it again)
He said I can try the bike at the gym but if it hurt, to stop. I did and after 15 minutes, my knee and thigh was aching. So there went that.
Hoping for some good news at my next appt.

Stress fracture
As a former competitive long distance runner, I know lots of people who have had them. With 4-6 weeks off, it should heal itself. It sucks, but you'll be able to work out again soon enough!

This is what i've been hearing. I sure hope so. Getting down about losing stamina while it heals but grateful because it could have been way worse.

Stress fracture
I had a stress fracture in my hip. The only thing I had to do was stay off it - you don't have to see the ortho immediately. I was on crutches for 2 months but you won't further damage it before you see the dr.

Stress fracture
I have a stress fracture in my pelvis. I'm allowed to still workout, just not run --- I can cycle, use the elliptical, etc. Make sure to go through a list of things with your doctor that you CAN do while healing.
Mine is just going to heal over time. It's not a huge deal.
