We got the deposit into our account yesterday but I thought it would be more money than we ended up getting, since we are married and file jointly, we don't make near the top end of the salary range, and have 2 kids (i thought you get 500 per kid?). I mean at least its something which helps though.

So it did not match up with what your adjusted gross income is?

Did you just get the $2400? Yes, you should also get $500 per kid...I think a lot of people are missing the money for children. Hopefully you will eventually get it, but you may have to inquire about it.

It depends on the age of the kids. It only goes to age 16. After that if the child has a job and NOT your dependent they would get $1,200.

Did you just get the $2400? Yes, you should also get $500 per kid...I think a lot of people are missing the money for children. Hopefully you will eventually get it, but you may have to inquire about it.
Ok, that makes sense then.

Us too. Not under my SS or DH's. Does yours just say "Payment status not available"? We should be eligible and they should have our direct deposit info from prior years.
I am getting anxious. There is literally no one to ask. What are we supposed to do?

I am on a tax forum and there are IRS agents on the forum that have said the money is being distributed in batches, if you make over $150,000 he expectation is that you can wait for your money more so than someone who makes less than that, if you filed your 2019 taxes in March 2020 they may have not been reviewed. So for those people the early bird did not catch the proverbial worm. They would have used your 2018 tax return, but since the system knows you filed, it needs to be reviewed. There is no mechanism to say oh this person is unemployed now, and needs the money today. So you will either wait, as they are entering more returns starting tonight through Saturday, get a paper check in August, or be able to get the money in 2021 on your 2020 tax return. I know this is not ideal or what you might need or want to hear, but this is what it is.

Thank you for this. I had given up, figuring we would just get a paper check. After I saw your post, I went back and finally was able to put in the bank info. It didn't say when we will receive it but I will check back in a few days.

It’s so frustrating. I am hearing horror stories of people not getting their unemployment $$. It was very easy for DH he took only 10 minutes or so but then each week we have to go on and certify. I am not sure why it is so easy for some but difficult for others
