Still No Stimulus Check
We were suppose to be in the first group of people receiving stimulus checks via direct deposit. According to the time table, we should get ours by May 2 (which is today) and we still have not gotten it.

Hmmmm Maybe it has something to do with when you filed your 2007 return???? Just a thought... I'm in the second round but I will admit I have stalking my bank account

That stinks..I checked this morning and received ours. Check again this afternoon. I also think they go by who is head of household so maybe it is under the opposite ss# than you thought.

I know it goes under the last 2 digits of DH"s ss# which is 11. I checked my bank account this morning and there was nothing there yet.

My sister works at the IRS. She was telling me on Wednesday that they are having a lot of problems sending out the checks. If you used H&R Block, TurboTax, etc they will probably be delayed. Many of the companies are submitting their bank account info with your taxes making it seem like you applied for a Refund Anticipation Loan. You can call the IRS and see what account they have on file for you.

Really? I thought that if you got a refund and recieved a check then you were getting it later but if you received a refund via direct deposit (which is what I did) then you would get it now.

THIS IS ON THE IRS WEB SITE ,
Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number. For joint filers, the payments will go out based on the person listed first on the return. Payments will be made by either direct deposit or paper check, consistent with how people filed their 2007 tax return.
People who use direct deposit also will be among the first to receive the payments starting April 28. Direct deposits will be made daily and completed by the date listed below:
DIRECT DEPOSIT
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16
Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
PAPER CHECK
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than:
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25
May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11
People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably about two weeks later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.
A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15

i was led to believe (and the above post does not clarify) that the check schedule was based on HOW you filed, not how you received your refund. if you e-filed, you are in the first schedule. if you paper filed (but chose the option of having the money given back via direct deposit) then you are in the second schedule.
all the above post states (if i am reading it correctly) that if you did direct deposit you will receive your refund more quickly, but not as quickly as those people who e-filed. if i am wrong i am sorry - i hope you get your refund soon!

The way I read it, it doesn't matter at allif you E-filed or not, it only has to do with how you recoved for you refund.
The only other delays are flling later, and the vague "A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount."
My taxes were post-marked, not received, by April 15, so I wouldn't be surprised if mine was delayed.
Lisa--Did you put your name first on the forms, or DH's? They use the first person's #, to determine the group.

it doesn't matter what order she put their names in - it goes by the lowest #.
