Spinoff: Working BF moms, do you pump at work? If so, how often?

Originally I was planning to pump but the more I think about it, the less I want to. I work with all guys. I know my boss would be understanding but I just know I'd hear crap from a few guys in the dept next to ours. I KNOW they already think I get preferential treatment. Maybe I'll pump during lunchtime only.

If you work FT and BF, do you pump at work? If so, how often?

Both my kids were EBF for the first year of their lives so, so, I definitely pumped at work.I did it twice a day-at 10:30am and at around 3:30 pm. Each session would take about 20 minutes. Pumping twice a day would ensures enough BM for the next day as well as some extra to spare for that very special stash in eh freezer that every nursing mother cherishes.

What kids of crap would you possibly hear from the guys, especially is you say your boss should not have any problems with your decision to BF? That they would like some pumping time as well? I am sure if nature intended for them to lactate in order to nourish their babies they would get the same pumping time you would. Perhaps you can tell them that.

Preventing you from pumping at work is illegal-as long as all your work is done on time it shouldn't be anyone's business! And silly comments from men in another department should certainly not stop you from providing the best kind of nourishment for your child. I say you marsh in with that pump proudly and let them all enjoy seeing your rinsing the tubes in the office kitchen!

In the beginning, I was pumping 2x a day at work. DD is now 12 months and I pump 1x a day around noon - doing it now!
