Spinoff to life insurance and will post
I have a 401k plan and a pension plan through my job but I don't have life insurance. How do I go about getting life insurance? Can you recommend who you have it with? How does is work? Sorry if these a dumb questions.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

DH and I have ours through NY life but there are alot of companies. You may want to ask family and friends for a recommendation close. Life Insurance is important because if anything happens to you or DH, the policy will cover expenses (mortgage, car, child care and education, etc...) that one income may not provide.

We got our life insurance thru State Farm. The amount and term that you get will all depend on what you are comfortable with. We got enough to cover our mortgage, with a little left over, for each of us. We did term insurance for 20 years. That will bring us into our early 50s. You should really find an insurance agent and discuss it with them, because there are a ton of different option out there.

We have ours through Northwesten Mutual. I agree with asking friends and family members for referrals. We've referred many people to our rep. But we live OOS so my referral wouldn't help you.
