Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I have not opened my Pack and Play yet and am wondering if I even should or if I should return it. Did you use yours? I have a small apartment and it would definetly take up space. Do you think its worth keeping?

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need

It depends what you will need it for.

Do you travel? Will someone outside your home be watching DC? Do you want a safe place for DC to play while you clean, do dishes, outside etc?

I have a bi level house so my PNP has been used everyday for the last 2 years and we travel alot to NY to visit relatives and need a place for DC's to sleep.

But if you dont need it for any of those reasons, def bring it back i think and get a credit for something youll def need-like a convertible carseat if u don't have one already.

It depends on you. I really never use mine. But I know some people use them a lot.

I have a 4 bedroom CH colonial and never used mine so I'm sure you'll be ok in an apt without it.

I agree with the previous posters that it rally depends on you. I am glad I have a Pack and Play. We use it when we go on vacation and stay at my mom's house. I don't know where my DS would sleep if we did not have this.

Now that my DS is getting older I probably am going to open it in my living room for him to play in.

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I used mine a ton.

Beach, my mother's yard, vacations, naps...

if I have company that has to sleep in his room, we put the pack and play in mine.

SO far I have used it for when family visits with their kids (saves them from packing theirs). BUt soon he will be going to a new day care, where he will use it everyday.

I have 2 and I use them both. I don't use them in my house. Only when we travel or go camping or the beach. Places where its not safe to put the babies down. I can't imagine not needing it!

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

My DD is almost 19 months old and I didn't use it once. I tried but she just hated it from the get-go. What a waste of $$!! I wish I hadn't gotten rid of the box and all that...I would have returned it.

My son is 10 months old and I just started to use it. I also bring it out into the backyard. I would keep it personally.

I was going to return it....I never used the bassinet or changing table.

However, DS is now extremly mobile and it is great to have a safe and secure place if I need to shower or just get stuff done.

If you have the space hang onto it. I literally JUST told my mom I was thankful I kept it!

Mine is in a corner right now, but I have a feeling we are going to have to start using it b/c DS is outgrowing the exersaucer.

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I wasnt' really using mine in my apt., but now that he can roll around a bit on the floor, I set it up in the livingroom so I can leave the room to do something without worrying. Before that, I mostly used it when I went to someone else's house because he hates the infant car seat to sleep in.

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I use mine all the time for her naps.... I am also taking it to Mexico with us, and then the week after that we are going to be at Mom and Dad's, so she will get use out of it their as well.

I pray that I can continue to use it as much as I am now.... It's a godsend to me!

If you plan on traveling, going to a house overnight of someone without a crib, pack and play, then keep it. Our pack and play has come in handy.

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I have one at home and one at my office and I use both!!! I could do without the one at home, especially if we did not have 2 levels. It is a convenience that I am glad to have, though.

Re: Spinoff to baby item you dont need (PackandPlay)

I never used mine (lived in an apartment when the babies were little). So I gave it to my mother (she watched both of my sons when they were babies). She used it all the time and it stayed over there.

I agree that if you don't plan to travel with it or give it to a caregiver who is not in your home - you should consider returning it for something that you would find of more value.
