Spinoff: BF Babies... that STTN...

When did it start?

Carlie is EBF and still wakes up like every 2-3 hours during the night to eat... She is almost 4 months and a big baby, already at 3 months she was 15lbs...

When will this end??? Ever?????????? hahha

Re: Spinoff: BF Babies... that STTN...

Chat Icon I feel your pain. DS is EBF and woke up every 2 hours for almost 5 months! At one point he was actually waking every hour!!!I thought it would never end. Then at around 5 1/2 months things started to get better. (I think it's because I did CIO). I would get a 4 - 5 hour stretch in the beginning of the night but he was up twice after that.
Finally at about 7 months he started STTN (11 hours). He still wakes up sometimes once during the night and if music won't calm him, then I nurse him back to sleep.
So there is hope. I hope it gets better for you soon!! Chat Icon

6 weeks...slept from 10:30-6:00.
By 3 months, DD slept from 8-7.

I think it just depends on the baby.

Re: Spinoff: BF Babies... that STTN...

Totally depends on the baby -

DD progressed basically an hour per week starting at 4 weeks. By 8 weeks she was sleeping almost 10 hours per night, some days more some days less. At three months we moved her to her crib and the sleeping suffered a bit, but now at almost 5 months she's going to bed at 8ish and sleeping 10-11 hours, eats and then sleeps another hour or two.

DS started SSTN at around 5 months. He was on and off about actually sleeping w/o waking up at all, but he didn't wake for feedings anymore.

Honestly I think that each baby is just going to do it when they are ready....Both of my children are/were EBF...My DD is 2 and still wakes up on most nights(stopped BF at 13 months)...She has always been average-sized.
My DS is 7 weeks old and has been sleeping 6-7 hours straight at night for several weeks...and he is 13 pounds already! (I hope Im not jinxing myself by posting this!)

The only differences that I note that Ive done differently with my two kids is that I held my DD alot more throughout the day, just because I didnt have another child..I would often just hold her while she took naps...and I woke her up every 3 hours to eat for the first month. Didnt do either of these things with DS. Honestly he was STTN almost as soon as we brought him home from the hospital so I just think it depends on the baby...Im up more with my 2 year old now than I am with my newborn!
Good Luck!

DD was 6-7 weeks. Every baby is different. Have you tried getting her back to sleep without feeding her?

DD - EBF and she didnt sleep through the night until she was 2!! she still wakes a couple of times a night and she is 4!!

DS- EBF - 7 months and he wakes 3-4 times a night to feed- we co-sleep so its easier for him to feed- I really need to put him in the crib and see if that will help. Plan on doing it this week.

DD is 4 months today and still does not STTN.

More often than not, she is sleeping 6 hrs straight - from 9ish to 3ish. She started doing that about 2-3 weeks ago.

But I am still sleep deprived Chat Icon.

DD didn't sleep through the night until she was 2 Chat Icon

DS started mostly sleeping through just recently around 10 months. Sometimes he still wakes up to nurse once, but not every night.
