So I just got a wedding invitation...
it just came in the mail today-- and the RSVP date is SEPTEMBER 20th- THIS Wednesday....
And we were not B listed because it's an out of town wedding and we received a save the date months ago..
What the fluck???

Hmmm, are you close enough to the people to call and tell them you just received it? Maybe there was a mail issue.
I know I once heard of an RSVP that didn't make it to the couple until AFTER the wedding, yet the people sent it back immediately.

well-- it's DH's family's best family friends, son's wedding.
We have already booked hotel rooms and our flights-- which DH's parents are paying for- so no skin off my back.
I just don't understand how people think that's acceptable.
The wedding is Oct 28th.

It probably got lost in the mail. Or maybe they had problems with the invitations. If there was no STD I would be upset, but you already knew about it, so I honestly don't see the big deal. JMHO

Oh- I am not upset about it-- just baffled. We were always planning on going-- and they know we were going-- I am just thinking about everyone else they invited!!

You never know what happened. The important thing is they sent out STDs so everyone was aware of the wedding. I almost got my invites out late because I had a problem with the calligrapher. They went out on time because I found someone who was able to do them last minute, but things happen.

I am also an anal bride that sent out my invites 10 weeks before my wedding.
Oh well, guess they do it differently in Texas-- at any rate, we are looking forward to the wedding-- it should be a lot of fun-- they are having an 80's cover band as their band!

It could have been a post office issue. A friend of mine sent out her invitations about 3 weeks ago and the post office lost 140 invitations out of 2 something invites. The post office actually sent a letter to all of invited guess with a copy of the invitation and she put her phone number so people could call her to RSVP. I eventually got the invite but she told me that some people still didnt get it and she is getting married next month. So many people thought she decided to cut back the guest list even though she sent out save the dates so no one called her to let her know they didnt receive it including myself. She started to worry when she wasn't getting responses.

This was definitely not a post office issue.
I asked my SIL last nigt if she got the invite- and she hasn't even received her's yet. And I just looked at te post mark, and it's September 12th.

I wonder why this happened.
We actualy got a STD card in February for a wedding in August and never got an invite. I think that is plain rude. It was a weekend we usually go away too and what if we worked out trip around the wedding? If we were going to be on the B list, they should not have set us a STD
