I think it will come down to when the snow actually starts and stops. At this point, we're definitely getting snow, but if it stops early enough on Monday, they'll have time to clear it out. If it's snowing through Tuesday morning, then a lot of things will be closed on Tuesday.

They closed Jones Beach yesterday due to cold and are rescheduling those appointments. I don’t know when they are being moved to though.

Yea my husband was supposed to get his today and it is postponed to Wednesday.

I don’t anticipate getting out really until Wednesday. Thankfully they made that an in person synchronous day for Monday/Tuesday kids in my district so my kids will get in 1 day this week.

I LOVE snow. I especially enjoy a good blizzard or two throughout the season. I hate mild, no snow winters. Blah. lol
I totally get not liking snow but living in the northeast, it's par for the course in winter so I don't understand when people can't cope when we get a snowstorm.

I don't know how much of it is not coping so much as if you can't stay home, it is downright dangerous. I am all for a snowstorm, but 2 feet of snow is bad. I worry about my 94 year old grandmother who lives alone. She is very capable of living on her own and we all made sure she was stocked up with food. My dad and my aunt both offered to let her come stay with them but she refused. So now we are worried she will lose power. Or God forbid something happens to her and an ambulance has a hard time getting to her. A friend of mine is due any second, she is petrified of going into labor and her DH not being able to drive her to the hospital.
Plus the shoveling, digging out of cars, I am remote teaching tomorrow but my kids have a real snow day. Of course there are worse things, and I would take two days being snowed in over the nightmare that was March- May. But I am still getting lots of anxiety. 24 inches is no joke, it will be a big mess to clean up.

I totally understand but living in this region it's just something we all have to expect, prepare for and get through. Winter comes with snow, occasionally lots of it. In a day or two, everything returns to normal.
As an aside, I hope your friend hangs in there. My mom went into labor with my brother during that crazy Blizzard of 1978 and it definitely was a headache getting to the hospital.

This weekend killed me bc it was so bitter cold out, so everyone stayed in.

I feel the same. We literally just got out of quarantine and now this. I am so sick of being in my house at this point!

You're lucky. My daughter refuses to set foot out in the snow. Even when she was little she hated it and would cry when i brought her out to play in it.
I guess she takes after her mom!

My kids will play in it but not when it's still coming down so hard and it's so windy... I'm going to bundle them up well though as they have to help me shovel since DH has to work. We are still expecting around 21 inches.
