Silly I know, but do you think I should address it?

So I ordered DD some new books from Scholastic and the darn book taught her to say not nice things rather than teach her not to (which I think was the morale of the story.)

So her favorite not nice phrase to say is "go away" and I can't stand it. So we are constantly telling her that it's not nice and she pretty much stopped.

Instead she made up a new 2 word phrase that kinda sounds like it (it's actually gibberish) and says it with the same inflection as she would "go away." And she says this gibberish statement constantly. It makes me crazy, because I know what she wants to say - its like she's taunting meChat Icon

Anyway do I just let her say this nonsensical statement...I guess I have to, because she's not actually saying anything wrong. RIght??? Man this girl knows how to outsmart me....

Reminds me of when I was little and learned the phrase Sugar Honeyed Iced Tea. My mom did not appreciate the use of acronyms. Chat Icon

I look at the meaning behind "words" rather than how they are pronounced. "Fudge", when referring to delicious chocolaty dessert is fine, but when someone hits their finger and yells "FUDGE!", I still consider it cursing, you're just pronouncing it differently.

If you know what she means, and you don't like it, I would stop it. Otherwise, she'll constantly do things like that, and just change the pronunciation.....
