She's here! Say Hello to Kayla Rose
Well, I haven't posted much since LIF was blocked at work, but for those who remember me, I used to post a TON on LIWeddings....for those of you who know me, I thought I would post an update.
Little Kayla Rose was born 3 weeks early on July 14th via c-section. She weighed 5 lbs 8oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Little Kayla had to be delivered early as I ended up having severe pre-eclampsia that showed up in my 36th week of pregnancy. I went in for a routine weekly doctor visit on July 11th and ended up in St Charles hospital that night...my blood pressure was sky high and the swelling in my legs and feet was pretty bad. The doctors said there was also over 4,000 mgs of protein in my urine due to poor kidney function as a result of the high blood pressure. A normal person loses about 300 mgs per day...just to put in in perspective. Baby wasn't in any danger, but I was in danger of a seizure and even a stroke, so they made a decision to induce labor. After 2 days in the hospital for testing (they did two 24-hr urine analyses and my condition got progressively worse in those 2 days) the doctor decided to deliver the baby. After 9 hrs of induction, I was not even a centimeter dialated, so they decided to do a c-section. It was kinda scary, since I didnt have time to mentally prepare for it, but it was quick and painless. The recovery was the worst part.
Anyway, without further ado, here's my little peanut. Congrats to all the moms-to-be and the new moms!

OMGGG she is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! I can't believe you had to go through all this horror of labor!!! You poor thing, but it is so nice that both of you made it out of the ordeal healthy!!! Congratulations new mommy you must be so excited!!!

Thanks everyone! I feel so proud showing her off to you ladies! Wow...I actually feel like a proud mommy!  Never thought I would know what it felt like....and it's wonderful!
