Shaking head side to side- infection?
My son has been shaking his head side to side as if he's saying no. He's even doing it in his sleep. Do you think it could be an infection? Should I call the dr? This started about 2-3 days ago- other than that he's acting pretty normal!

is he pulling on his ear? drinking bottles without stopping & starting?
If everything else is ok unless he is not stopping the head shaking - I'd probably let it go. It may be a new trick he's learned when saying no.

Re: Shaking head side to side- infection?
My DS does this too and I inquired about it at our last appointment. She said it's just him exploring and realizing that he can move different parts in different ways and can get a different perspective. Still freaks me out a bit but am trusting her opinion for now. My rule of thumb is that if you're concerned about it, call...but if he seems to be acting fine otherwise and is not in pain you can bring it up next time. I keep a running list of questions!

I haven't noticed him pulling on his ears at all and he's breastfed (hasn't had a bottle in a long time). He has been a little cranky the past few days, but I attributed it to teething. Could teething cause this?
