School supplies?

I usually stock up on school supplies for the year around this time to avoid the first week of school rush. I have no idea if I should get anything yet. I was thinking to just go off last years list but obviously the requirements are very different this year. Did any of your districts release supply lists yet?

I'm in a different state, but mine isn't going to give us a list until this Friday - and school is supposed to start Monday. Not sure why they're feeling the need to wait until the last minute.

School supplies?

Our secondary kids are not getting a list. When they start school, the teachers will let them know if there is any specific they need. They are going to try to do most of their work on the Chromebook as they can not utilize their lockers this year.

Elementary, they can only use supplies that fit in their desks so it will be limited. We won't have those lists for a few weeks.

Why yes, yes they have.

If anyone knows where I can find an 8oz bottle of Gojo green certified foaming hand soap with a pump, a 3 pack of 40 ct purell hand sanitizing wipes for sensitive skin and a canister of Clorox (only Clorox NOT an imposter) disinfecting wipes, please let me know. Amazon, target, Walmart, BJs and Costco do not have. I had my admin check staples and WB mason, also out.

Luckily, they had the decency to provide the sku # for the tissues and paper towels they want.

Re: School supplies?

Middle school does not send out a list, but based on the last two years for my son, I bought the following for both of my kids:
2 inch binder
Reinforced loose leaf
Reinforced graph paper
Dividers with folders that go into the binder
Pouch for the binder to hold supplies
New computer mice
New mouse pad with gel
New wrist rest gel pad
One box each from Costco the back to school pack with pencils, pens, high lighters, glue stick, etc.
I also got each of them a new book bag. They have used the same one since kindergarten and after washing them last school year they broke so they both got new ones from ll bean when they were on sale.
From last year they still have ear buds, art supplies, scratch paper, calculator, scissors.
I also have a protractor set that my son used and my daughter will use for 6th. We already have color pencils, markers, paint, glue, and other art supplies at home from over the years so I am not buying new because they can reuse what we already have.

Our district put together supply boxes and posted lists as soon as school ended. I bought the box for middle school as some items were very specific but I ordered the supplies from Target for DS 2 figuring I can return if not needed (but I’m sure they will be needed eventually).

Finding hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes is close to impossible still.
I know it's easier for businesses to get it from indistrial suppliers because everywhere I go they have hand sanitizer and hand sanitizer stations.
So the school should be providing that stuff

That is crazy! I wish they would just ask for the money honestly. If they are going to be so specific and it has to be exactly what they ask for, then they know what it costs. They should just ask for the money and they can figure out where to find it. I hate when they send me on a scavenger hunt for supplies.

Our list was posted on the district website a month ago. I wasn't sure if they were even going to open, so I didn't even check out the list. I guess I should get started.

School supplies?

I’m shocked they are asking for classroom stuff. We are not allowed to share anything this year. So hand sanitizer wipes etc are just for my child.

Are they out of their ***** minds???????????. I'd tell them if I find a pack of wipes, they are staying home! THEIR job to protect the students is to provide the cleaning products.

Ok, so this isn’t normal? My DD is going into kindergarten so I don’t know any better.

We’re also new to the area so I’m trying to be on my best behavior and not call the school asking wtf happens if I send in the wrong paper towels.

It was normal Pre-Covid, though still nervy as hell. Now since they know that nobody can find these products unless they take a drive to PA, it's downright insane.

Yes! Made me sad to see masks in the school supply section. I don’t know why but I was surprised. I understand but it really jarred me that this our new reality.
