School Nurse Just Called
My 7 year old fell off the monkey bars and had the wind knocked out of her. Nurse says her arm and shoulder hurt and she hasn't stopped crying. My husband is picking her up and taking her to the pediatrician.
What *****.......I work in the city and live in Suffolk County. Being a working mother *****!!!!!!!!!
I want to be with her right now and hold her and tell her she's going to be okay and I can't be. I know it sounds stupid...but that's how I feel. I hate the city!
UPDATE: Husband just called. Dr. checked her out. She's bruised and her shoulder is probably going to give her a problem for the next couple of days. They did blood work and urine analysis (just incase her kidney is bruised). Other than that, my husband says she's okay now and calmer. Thank God. Thank you girls for your support. I feel so helpless being so far. When I get home she's going to get tons of kisses from mommy! Thanks again!

Thanks everyone. It's just hard being so far away and not being able to do anything. I feel helpless. Know what I mean? 4:30 can't get here soon enough so I can get out of this place and get home to her.

I know it's tough, but your DH is picking her up & taking her to the Dr. Have DH call you once he gets out of the DR's office.

No problem.. Maybe that can be a thing between you and her, you know? she can always remember that time when she fell and mommy came home with her favorite ice cream!
Good luck and don't beat yourself up about it. I know how hard it is not to.
