The security department at my job (I work for a government contractor) sent this out in an email company wide yesterday. She did it herself first to make sure the # was legit and she said it is.

REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

I know it is an urban legend that there is a dealine for this but it is not an urban legend that telemarkters are starting to call more & more people on their cellphones.

I know about 10 or more people including DH & myself that have started to get these telemarketing calls on their cellphones within the last month.

It can't hurt to still call and be on the do not call list.

I hope they start calling me as I will be taking notes. If they call me more than once (or if I was called using an auto-dialer), thats $500 per violation according to TCPA laws.

Hopefully the lawsuits will be flying out the door. I have home improvements that need monetary infusion.
