Where in Wantagh is he located? How long have you been going to see him? What are his hours like, and how are the office staff?

He's on Jerusalem Ave. He is open M, Tues, Th, Fri and Sat. Tues is the late night. His staff are very nice and capable. He also has a cardiologist in this office that comes in a few days a week including Saturdays.
I trust him with my life literally. It doesn't look like a high end practice but the care is as high end as you can get.

I just called there, and was treated terribly by the person who answered the phone, - I cannot believe I had to beg for an appointment, I was flexible, and told them I would wait a few weeks for an appointment, the lady told me sometimes he takes new pts sometimes he does not, it depends on his mood! and they were very busy. This is not a good start, I think I am going to go elsewhere. I was told that she will have to see if they will take a new patient. I am so upset at the way I was treated , I had heard they were a great practice by a few people, and was treated so horrible!

I had a similar experience when I called there last month. The first time I called, there was some problem and the office person said they'd get back to me, never did. The next time she told me he was not accepting new patients for physicals until possibly August, but their computers were down so couldn't tell me for sure until they came up. I needed a new prescription and blood test because my insurance change and my previous doctor does not accept new patients, so I asked if I could come in just for a blood test and she said she would ask Dr. Last get back to me. A week later, they finally did and the answer was no. They weren't very nice about it, either. A week after that, they called and asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment for a physical in September.
I couldn't wait so I went with Dr. Moynihan at East Meadow Family Practice. They got me in within a week. They seem busy, but he was pretty good.

A dr's practice should not be like that. I am sure it is the workers being over worked and they do not want to stay later? maybe? But anyway, I decided I do not have to beg someone for my business. We went someplace else, and I am very greatful my DH is okay. I guess this dr's office is not being affected by the economy- shame on the workers who are doing this to potential patients.

Just got a call on my machine , I was NOT picking it up when I saw who it was- they are very sorry they are not taking on any new patients.
Kind of annoyed that in this day and age they would turn down patients- I work for a dr, and my boss would never turn away anyone- Think it is rather unprofessional at the way I was treated by the nasty lady who took my call and left me the message. I will be letting my best friends parents know what happened, and will be telling people to stay clear of this office.

He does have a busy practice but that is no excuse for being treated that way.
I'm so sorry that happened. I love him as a human and a physician and I'm sorry for recommending him and the way it turned out.
She could have just said that he's not taking new patients right now and been done with it.
