Quiet today with Turmoil happening in this World
I am reading all of these stories from the people in Ukraine. They are heartbreaking. Putin is crazy but knows what he is doing which is very scary. I am concerned for how this will play out across the globe. We do not need this right now.

I think it's quiet though as a lot of kids are off this week and people are traveling or trying to balance working and entertaining lol.

130 views right now, that’s why I mentioned it. All the people who were so gung-ho for Biden are pretty quiet.
So I know I posted on the political board. I am not gung ho for Biden but 100% hate Trump and will never vote for him and would vote for Biden again and again over Trump.
That said if you are talking about Ukraine again I don’t know why we are blaming Biden or why the US even hast to take responsibility. I feel bad for the Ukraine people and shire we should help I’m just not getting the blame and when always the US is supposed to be responsible.
And if not just Ukraine what am I missing. Haven’t really been paying attention to the news lately.
I know prices are up everywhere but I don’t blame one person for that.
Is there anything else I should be worrying about that I have been missing?

There is A LOT to be worried about. Putin is saying that anyone who gets involved will have severe consequences. Cyber hacking, we still have to worry about nuclear war. They have taken over Chernobyl.

Ukraine is not a part of NATO. The Ukrainian Government has wanted to join Nato and has been working on a path to membership but until recently the Ukrainian people have not wanted their country to take that path.
Putin is against Ukraine joining NATO as he sees this as a threat to Russia - the US military often establishes a military presence in NATO countries to lend support in its defense. Putin will not put up with this.
The US will send troops to the countries that border Ukraine and are part of NATO to help defend these countries should Russia start pushing across their borders.

I'd be more worried about an attack on the national grid, by hackers or an EMP.
I don't think traditional nukes will come into play because of MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction.
Taking out our grid would be devastating to the country. Imagine no electricity for months, if not longer.
Power plants are not hardened against attacks like that and many of the components to repair/replace the power plant transformers are made overseas.
Scary huh.

Quiet today with Turmoil happening in this World
I'm literally sitting here, shaking this has me so scared.
You know, if it were just me and my husband, I'd think, well whatever happens happens.
But I can't handle thinking that, God-forbid something were to happen here, how it would affect my child.
I don't know how military parents handle this worry. God bless them.

When you post this....All the people who were so gung-ho for Biden are pretty quiet. you are making the implication that Trump would have done a better job with the situation as he was the only alternative to Biden in 2020.
The US is not working independently so there has to be some consensus with the EU and NATO along with the US.
Additionally, some sanctions took place immediately. Some sanctions took place in 2021 amd earlier.
What sanctions are you referring to? Are they being used for bargaining to try to draw Putin back to the table for negotiations.
I do think that if Trump had won the office in 2020, we would not be seeing this play out in 2022 but that is only because Trump is a pawn and Putin uses him like a puppet so it would have been a delayed invasion in 2025 or 2026.

The little I have heard on this They keep saying that the sanctions have been imposed. Are you saying he is waiting a month to actually make it go in effect. Also just read that sanctions were given and they knew it was not going to stop this from happening.

What makes you think that there is going to be a draft? There has not been a draft since 1973.
There wasn't a draft in 2014 when Russia invaded Ukraine.
This is also not a US V Russia. It's a NATO issue.
