Question for Mommy's with nanny's or outside childcare...

I am looking to change careers again since I am now pregnant with my first child and need to have a job that is conducive to family life (especially for a single Mom)....I have thought about applying for a few nanny positions available in Rockland and Westchester counties, but I'm a bit hesitant because of my current "status."

If you were to hire a new nanny, and she told you that she was expecting in Feb, would you hire her if she had full intentions on coming back to work for you within a week or two of her own child being born (pending any major complications, of course)? And would you allow her to bring her own child with her on the days she was caring for your children???

I'm just curious as to what the mommy's on the board might have to say to this.

TIA for any of your advice and answers! Chat Icon

Re: Question for Mommy's with nanny's or outside childcare...

I prob would not, taking care of 2 infants is a lot of work. I would want the person I hire to give 100% to my child when they are in his/her care. Would not ask some one to juggle 2 demanding babies and get burnt out.

PS: if this person was to work w/out bringing her baby, if she was highly recommended.. maybe..

I more than likely would but here would be my concerns....

First and foremost I would be concerned that the person applying for the position was unaware of the trials and tribulations of taking care of multiple children in addition to an infant..

Secondly I would be concerned that they were not going to come back after they had their child...
