Question about how much to spend on baby shower present?
Hi ladies - Believe it or not - I've never been to a baby shower! But now I have a few coming up and have no idea how much to spend...what is a good amount to spend on a friend's baby shower gift? Also if there is a range what is the higher end? Thanks in advance!

for a distant relative or friend I dont speak to all the time, I spend about $50.
For a close relative maybe $200.
For most people Im close iwth I average at about $100.

I have a related question----not really familiar with showers either. Do you also purchase a gift when the baby is born if you do a shower gift?

I do. Usually just a cute outfit or something, nothing too expensive.

it depends on who it is and what my financial situation is at the time.
i try to keep it between 50-100. there are no rules, im sure whatever you get even if its just a card will be greatly appreciated.

It depends for me too. If I don't really know the person/distant relative, etc $25 and then ranging up to $100-200 for close friends and family
