Q for moms that EBF - If DS is 4 wks how often should he be eating?
Also, does the time interval change as he gets older? How does it change? TIA

DD eats every 3 hours with the exception of night. She goes down around 11:30 and wakes around 5:30-6.
She is gaining around 5-6 oz a week so it was Oked by her nurse to let her sleep this long since she was gaining.
ETA: She was 5.5 weeks old and is now almost 8 weeks.

Question for ya - do you let your boobs go this long or do you pump? I am constantly worrying about emptying them b/c I ended up with mastitis last time! But I would love the longer sleep interval.

we were every 2.5-3 hours for a long time. If I am out and about, he would be able to go a little longer then that.
maybe at 7 months it went to every 4 hours...but Josh doesn't really eat solids, so he fills up on BM.

We were usually every 2.5-3 hours like clockwork, sometimes 3.5 hours in between start of one feeding & start of the next...of course during growth spurts, she'd feed more regularly, even once an hour or so

I do let my boobs go this long but I make sure I pump after her 11:30 feed and I nurse her upon her getting up. A few nights she may wake early around 4am and want to nurse for a few minutes. But it is nice to have a longer sleep interval-however I would get it oked by your Ped-DD gets weighed twice a week by a nurse so we know the longer intervals are NOT starving her-although I doubt we could. When this kid is hungry-SHE LETS YOU KNOW

Wow your sooo lucky when did dd start to sleep that long... I have twin boys and the longest they let me go is for 4 hours at night....

Your really lucky!
She was a little over 5.5 weeks when we let her sleep for 5 hours for a few days then we just let her sleep . She was gaining weight so it worked. I increased her OZ during the day to make sure her calories were being met.
