PSEG rate increase
I just got our eletric bill. I can't believe my eyes. Usually our bill is $50-$80 but his time $350. Are they serious could this be a mistake? It's not even summer yet. I can't image the price when I use the ac. I need to move out of ny.

My mom just saw a $200 increase.. We can't figure out why. It looks like the rate per kw is higher than last month but still.

Go outside and look at your meter and see if it matches up. It was probably an error in the reading.

It is not a mistake. Everyones bill has gone up. I called them. If you notice your rate for "delivery" has probably gone up 30 to 45% from December.
What THEY toldd me was since gas is more expensive they pass the cost onto us.

last month it was over $700, this month over $600.
i can't wait to leave NJ

Intially, I saw maybe a $20 increase but I recently got an email saying their rates were decreasing...
Back in February, we sent an e-mail about one of the most significant parts of your electric bill — the Power Supply Charge. This charge is made up of a combination of costs: electricity purchased directly from power producers and fuels used at Long Island's power plants, which we do not own. As the manager of Long Island’s electric system, PSEG Long Island does not produce any of the electricity used by our customers.
This past winter, electric bills were higher than usual for many of our customers and for millions of other utility customers around the country. Colder than average temperatures caused energy prices to go up, which, in turn, caused the Power Supply Charge on your bill to go up for several months in a row.
We're pleased to let you know that, with winter behind us, the Power Supply Charge decreased in April by just more than 15 percent, from 12.3 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to 10.4 cents per kWh. For more information about the Power Supply Charge, click here.

same thing happened to us our bills with lipa were 150 at most and we just got a bill from pseg for 400

They are thieves thats what. So many people are complaining since they took over. My bill went up an additional 300/month.

I checked my meter and it was right guess I'm paying it. It just seems crazy to pay $350 for a 1100 square ft house. Every time I have to pay taxes or get surprise bills like this I want to move so bad.
