wow! i didn't realize it was so dangerous!!! i will stop sliding down with dd now. thank you for the psa, and hope your little guy feels better soon

Thanks again for posting this. So scary! I just told DH about this last night because he always goes down the slide with DD and he can be careless. .

Something like this happened to me as a kid (like 11 or 12)--but I was going down the slide on a friend's lap friend & my hand got caught & was swollen for a while.
And I probably still would not have thought twice about going down a slide with a kid on my lap (or watching someone else do it) because little kids are smaller & and the adult is trying to protect them, so it doesn't seem as dangerous as what we did.
