Progesterone users...when to stop taking it
When did you stop taking it?
With the boys, I stopped around 11 weeks.
My dr didn't tell me when to stop taking it this time. I can check w/ her but am curious what others did.

I did PIO shots until 11 weeks also even though my RE released me at 8 weeks to the OBGYN.

I took it until 10 weeks. My ob told me the placenta takes over, so there is no need for it. But I have heard of some people taking it their entire pregnancy

My RE said I could stop at 10 weeks, but make sure you wait until your doctor tells you to stop.

I think I was between 11 and 12 weeks, and I was on Crinone and oral progesterone. I think placenta takes over around that time.

I am 11.5 weeks and just went to the doc on Monday. I forgot to ask him. I am on 200mg of Prometrium daily.

I am taking PIO injections. My RE told me to continue them until 10 weeks.

Me too. I might have been 10w and a couple days. My OB wanted me to finish it off. RE was fine with me stopping at 9w, but at that point I was with my OB and he preferred me not to stop until at least 10 weeks.

Holy cow - i thought it was weird they put my on it... I didn't realize there were so many on progesterone
Can I hijack and ask why everyone is on it - my dr led me to believe it was a fluke they did the blood test and spotted mine was low.
I'm so worried it will do something to the baby - with my DS, I didn't even take asprin, and now I feel horrible that I'm taking hormones everyday for weeks. I'm so stressed out about it.

I did ivf so that is the reason I needed PIO.

My RE took me off PIO at 9 weeks. I'm still on the inserts 3x/day though   and I'm 10w 2d. I had blood work done this morning at my RE and I really thought that he would bring me down to 2x/day starting today but no luck. I think he's just being overly cautious b/c my last pregnancy ended in a m/c and I had issues with my progesterone levels then. He's also trying to play it off this time that because this baby is from an FET that he wants to keep me on it longer but I'm not buying it. I think he's just being over protective. I'm  to be off of it by the end of the 1st tri
ETA: what also really annoys me is that I'm seeing my ob/gyn as well and he ran my blood too and told me that my progesterone #s are in the 30s so it's no where near being close to low

I was on it because my progesterone #s were dangerously low. They were around 5. My OB thought for sure I was going to miscarry. Even on the pills, they only went up to a 7  . But here I am 29 weeks pregnant!
