I've done both
When I make with the kids we used canned
Feed them all the toxins!!!!!

I always pipe canned frosting. Never knew you couldn't  They come out great!
It holds it's shape? Maybe I've had sh!tty cans in the past but they never stay pretty!
I like the canned better! I use the Pampered chef gun thing to frost cupcakes. I put it in the fridge for a bit to help it retain it's shape!

I don't mind canned frosting but I much prefer homemade when possible.

I much prefer to make homemade, it's easy to do and canned is all chemicals. That being said, when I am SUPER PMS'ing, like I get intense chocolate cravings that nothing satisfies 2 or 3 times a year, nothing helps but canned chocolate frosting and a spoon!! So therefore, I always have some in house! LOL

Poll - canned frosting, Yes or No?
I like to melt canned chocolate icing. It turns into hot fudge and it's amazing. I mix it I with chocolate box cake or brownies and let it bake and it comes like molten lava cake.
Not a fan of most icings though. Prefer french or whipped cream.

I used to pretty much always use canned frosting (except when making cream cheese frosting)-- but found a super easy and quick buttercream frosting now and I feel like it is SO Much better than the canned stuff. Ive never made chocolate frosting though
