Pls. vote on the type of fence we should get...UPDATED..
After the hassle with the town and permits, we are able to get 4' only b/c we are a corner lot -please let me know which you like better for a corner lot - this fence will be in the front and side of house only. Thanks All!
UPDATE : I just got the estimates in today - shocked to see it was just a $60.00 difference from Picket to privacy, some reason I thought Picket would be sooo much cheaper. Image Attachment(s):

Really? Even though it is soo short? I like that one the best to - I just don't know if 4' solid panels look funny.

Personally I love the look of the picket fence but because you are on the corner, #1 would be better for privacy!

Love #1 I guess because we got the same thing.... A house around the corner from us has #1 around and then the picket right in front of the house lools cute

I have to agree. Could you also plant trellisses and viney plants for a bit more privacy? or trees/hedges?

Love number 2-- as far as privacy you can plant beautiful bushes 3 feet apart from another and put black eyed susans in between for that cottage feel too. Number 1- the short panel looks funny and they get dirty very fast too, I have the 6foot panel in my backyard and when it rains it gets dirty always some smudge of dirt on it.
also on the inside of your property using number 2 you can alternate the different types of pine trees/bushes or leeland cypress' for a park like feeling too, and they grow wide and tall again for that privacy.
for a corner I think for curb appeal the picket is your best choice.

as far as the vines go, it is very very hard we have the 6ft with the trellis in our backyard and the vines do not grow and are a PIA to try and web through each trellis. and they dont provide much privacy either.

What town are you in. I'm having the same problem yet everyone else seems to have 6' fence right up to the property line regardless of being a corner lot. I'm in Town of Huntington.

town of brookhaven - Moriches area. We saw some to that looked illegal, but I am not going that route - if we got caught, we can't affored to have it moved ! It's costing enough to install.

A lot of people by us do that too (Town of Hempstead) and we were told by multiple fence companies that we can do it too, but if the town goes around and sees it and finds out you didn't get a permit they can demand that you take it down and then you have to go through all the hassle of getting the permit and then you can install your fence again.
