PLEASE take an infant CPR class.......
I just had the biggest scare of my life with Christopher a little while ago.
He likes to play with the Gerber Puffs container, and didnt realize he was chewing on the plastic wrapper and he swallowed a piece and started to choke, he was turning red and trying to cough. THANK GOD I knew what to do, and he threw up and it came out
Lesson learned, dont let them play with the conatianer or take the plastic wrapping off, and please take a class, it cant hurt.
Im in tears now, I got so scared.
I dont know if I should tell DH

oh Diane, like you don't have enough on your plate, you had this scare. I am glad he is ok, very scary, GREAT that you knew what to do. Now that they are so mobile I get anxious over her eating and paranoid.
I was looking up places to take the class just on Tuesday! Where did you take your class ?

So glad he is ok. It will take a little while for you to come down from that scare- trust me. You are right everyone should take a class. I am glad I did! That class resulted in me saving the life of one of my students. It's important for everyone to take one!

I sued to coach, so we had to be certified evry year, and they would teach you on children and infants

that must have been SO scary. glad you knew what to do! we took a cpr class a few weeks before I had DD...so glad we did that.

Oh My God Diane! Thank God he is ok and that you knew what to do. My Matthew likes to play with the gerber puffs container and one time I caught him chew on the plastic so from now on I rip the entire paper off so there is no paper for him to chew on...

Thank goodness he is okay. Dont beat yourself up...I have to admit I dont remove that plastic wrapper either - and will today because of you so think of the positives...you are passing a valuable lesson along to the rest of us.

glad you kept a cool head and knew what to do! My cert has expired and I know they say that it's like riding a bike... you just remember, but when it's your child I would be a wreck!

WOW! Good thing you knew to react so quickly. I took infant CPR before DD was born BUT she plays with the puffs container all the time & loves the plastic. No more of that now that I heard your story!!! Thanks for sharing!
