Please recommend your PCP or Internal Medicine doctor in the Merrick, Bellmore area...
I'm looking to switch my doctor - Anyone have a great internal med doc or primary care physician that you love? With nice receptionists as well? lol
My current doctor is okay, but the wait time in the office is 2-3 hours ALWAYS and the receptionists are nasty. I have to BEG for an appointment from them.

Little further East, but we like Dr. Levitt in Massapequa.
He is on Park Blvd. a little North of Merrick Rd. by Smokin' Al's.
The place is nothing to look at when you first walk in, but he is awesome, very thorough, quick on referrals if needed and staff is nice too, which I think makes or breaks a practice.
I have to see him this week for a work physical, but when I called last week to schedule the appt they were able to accomodate me right away, I just couldn't accomodate them.

Hey!
I remember a couple of years back you rec'd him, and another poster mentioned he wasn't taking new clients... This doc's location would be so convenient for me. Are the receptionists nice? A big reason why I'm leaving the practice I go to now is the office staff... nasty and have to beg for appts.

Thanks for the rec! I work very close to his office and never realized it was even there. Is he looking to retire any time soon, or does he have years to go? My luck I'll find someone I love and they'll go and retire.

They are ok. I don't think they are the best but when you need something they do come through. I really like him. I'm under the impression they are taking new clients. I told him that his office staff was shooing people away and he looked at me funny. His office manager is Regina and she said that wasn't true. They have a few new people at the front desk so maybe that's a moot issue.

I don't know. DH and I have started going there recently (I was there yesterday in fact) and my ILs have gone to him for years.
He doesn't look that old though. Maybe in his 50's? I also think he has an asst. but I have never met him. His asst is not an MD, I think a NP though.
