What do you sugguest I get, brand wise and where? $ isn't an object HERE:) I want a great recipe to impress my DH with. Also having some leftovers would be perfectly FINE!!

Smithfield. An old southern woman told me about it when I lived in NC. So easy, i mean super easy. Boars head make a ham glaze sold by thevdeli dept, it is awesome. Pick that up too. Ive seen smithsfield in bjs, stop and shop, king kullen.

Believe it or not I just buy the regular ham -the butt portion or the other one that's on sale - the store brand.

I don't have a particular recipe but what I ususally do is:

1. score the ham with a knife in a criss cross pattern - front and on sides.
2. make a paste with mustard (whatever kind you like) - and brown sugar. If you like your ham more sweet, use more brown sugar.
3. massage the past into the ham.
4. where all the x's are from the criss cross i stick in a whole clove - all over the ham.
5. put water in the bottom
6. cook as instructed in the packaging and baste occasionally.

SOmetimes I put in a bottle of beer at the bottom with some water and baste with that too.

ALways yummy.

stop and shop sells the small sized spiral hams... I just got one this weekend. It's basically 1/3 of the regular spiral ham (as it'll just be 3 of us on easter).
