Phone passcodes in a marriage
We do but we both know each other’s passcodes. We will use each other’s phones if one is closer than the other.

Phone passcodes in a marriage
Before my separation - we both had passcodes. We occasionally changed them and never let the other person know what it was, but we never hid the number. If something came up that either needed to check the other's phone (using Google Maps while driving, etc) we'd easily give the number. But it wasn't something we felt we had to inform the other about since we rarely needed to look at the other's phone.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
Yes we have passcodes, but no we don't know what each other's passcode is. It's not something that was ever discussed really. I'm sure he would tell me if I asked and vice versa but I don't see the need, we have our own phones.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
He has a passcode that I didn't know and I didn't care about, but one day he didn't have any problem put it it on in for of me. It is an easy one to guess or remember lol. I don't have any. As for his personal email account, I don't know his password, but both of our accounts are set up in the computers to remember the password.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
i have a code and he knows it, he doesn't have a code -- we're free to use each other's phone whenever necessary - no secrets. all of our other accounts have codes that we're privy to, as well.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
We know all of each other’s passcodes. Out of respect I will always let dh know when I’m going into his phone, iPad, wallet. Not that he cares, just respect.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
We both have them on our phones.
Mine is required for work for me to be able to get to my mail or I probably wouldn't have it though now with the fingerprint touch working on my phone I don't mind it as much. Even with fingerprint you can still unlock the phone if you know the code.
I do know DH code. Though someitime I forget it.
I think he knows mine I probably told him once before but I rather him not know it cause he thinks hes funny and will take my phone and post stupid things on FB under my name or text random people stupid stuff

Phone passcodes in a marriage
we have each others passcodes. For a while I didn't remember my wife's it didn't bother me, so much as it was an inconvenience at times.
We use our phones for navigation on the car, Magic timer tooth brushing for the kids, sometimes to entertain the kids. Sometimes we end up using each others.
I don't look through her phone, texts, emails or whatever and I don't think she looks through mine. Really there is nothing there besides some stupid group chats that are more stupid than anything.
I would be pissed if my wife posted under my name or started texting people as me. Maybe ok if its a super obvious thing that is out there for like 10 seconds, but thats about it.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
I can't stand having a passcode on my phone. I know I should- in case it's lost or stolen etc but to have to key it in every time I mindlessly pick up my phone to browse is such a pain in the A.

If your phone has the capability, use the fingerprint scan. It's so easy - it gets to the point that you start pick up your phone a certain way (not awkwardly or anything like that) so that it could pretty much opens automatically when you pick you your phone, if you want it to

I have a Galaxy S7 and it might have that. I have to look. I am just always worried that it won't work. Like phones can be glitchy and I can see it saying access denied even though it's my fingerprint.

Re: Phone passcodes in a marriage
My exDH had one and I didn't know it... which pretty much always made me uncomfortable among other things. LOL.
My now-boyfriend has an iphone and added my finger to the passcode bc he wanted me to be comfortable.

DH has one on his phone, but I know it. I don't have one on my phone. I personally would not be comfortable if I didn't know his passcode.

I just set it up on my iPhone & it never recognized me, so I re-did it & now it usually works, unless my hands are wet. If it doesn't work, yo can then put in your passcode. You do have to have both ( on a phone at least) because when you restart the phone you have to put the code it, but the finger print is easier for day to day unlocking.
We have each other's codes--not to snoop, but for convenience(I'm terrible at keeping my charged). Mostly we use each other's in the car.
