Pets in grocery stores!
why do they allow people to bring dogs into a grocery store?  
I am an animal lover but that is just disgusting!

That's because they aren't allowed unless they are a service dog.
If a manager saw, then that is really disgusting.
I told a woman once that it was nasty that she had her dog in the baby seat part of the cart with out any protection. I don't even have kids and it disgusted me that this woman was so rude.

I also think it's gross to bring pets into baby stores. come ON people! but I guess it's the stores fault for not doing anything about it!

I am a HUGE dog lover but unless it's a "working" dog then it shouldn't be in a food store or medical facility. We had a patient fight with us because she wouldn't bring her Yorkie out to the car in the dental office  We kindly said call OSHA if you have a problem with the laws........

exactly! and why would this cause drama? how can anyone possibly think this is ok? I assure you that if the Health dept was there and saw a dog in there, there would be heck to pay.
it is SO unsanitary! what if the dog pees (or worse) on something it's bad enought at the mall, but at a place where there is food involved, YUCK!

ITA. I see people with their dogs EVERYWHERE. The grocery store, the mall, etc. and it drives me batty! I have absolutely no problem with service dogs (I think they serve an important purpose and should be able to go anywhere their owner goes), but a PET does not need to go to these places. I am not a dog person and I don't think I should have to deal with your dog wandering the aisles of a store or, honestly, just being near me, the food and the clothes I am looking to purchase. It's gross and inappropriate.

I bet you there are people that shop in the store that are probably dirtier than the dog that you saw!
I don't think i would bring my dog in a gorcery store out of respect for other people, but I wouldn't be that annoyed by it!

That happened to me once in Target. Someone came in with their dog and had their dog in the cart. No one stopped her or said anything. When I went home I called up Target Headquarters and reported the whole thing.

be that as it may, it is not allowed at the Stop & Shop I go to. I just called and the woman I spoke with was shocked that there was a dog in the store. She said that there should be a sign "no dogs allowed" on the door and she said that she's going to check to make sure it's in an obvious place.

I agree, pets should not be in a grocery store b/c there is food there and it's not appropriate.
But what's the problem if you have a small dog in a bag in say, the mall? It's not as though the dog is running around off a leash in the middle of Macy's?
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I don't see the big deal in it.
