Period start date question
Sorry TMI...If you have a small amount of brown/blood discharge one day and the next the actual blood flow starts what day is considered day 1? Thanks

Because my period starts off light, and is like that for days, I asked a nurse what day can I assume that my period actually starts because my flow is so light. "First day of full flow" was not something I could really work with. It still confused me.
She told me that as long as the blood is red, it's is your period-- this is especially helpful if you start off with some brown spotting.

This is what I always thought, but I asked my Dr. and she said it was the first full day of bleeding, whether it is spotting or heavy. Go figure.

I always count the first sight of blood TMI as day 1
