Our first appointment is today!!! *** UPDATED!!!*** ADDED PIC!!!
I am so excited, I can't even contain myself!!! I don't know how I am going to make it until 2:30 this afternoon!  I am 7w5d, so I am hoping to see and hear the heartbeat!!!!
OMG - I can't wait!!!!!
Oh - is the first sono usually internal or external? Do I need to have a full bladder?
***UPDATE*** 
Our little baby is measuring PERFECTLY at 7w5d!!!!! We saw the little flicker of the heartbeat and the arm and leg buds! It was the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen.
It was an internal sono and just that alone. I didn't really have a big sit-down with the doctor, he wanted me to come back in 3 weeks for another sono and all of the bloodwork and to get me registered at the hospital (Winthrop, which I knew already, he had done some surgery on me last November and that's where it was done). I guess at that time we will do all of the bloodwork and other things that I had expected to do at this visit.
I am too exhausted right now to scan pictures - the scanner is alllllllllllll the way upstairs and I'm curled up on the couch in the living room. I'll update again when we scan the pics!
I'm growing a human!!!!!!!!!!!!  
Here is Lola! (My dad keeps a running list of names that he thinks are "cool" - he's a nutcase, but I love him   Lola tops his list. He calls me every time he thinks of a new one. A lot of them sound like stripper names  We wouldn't name our child that, but it's a fun in-the-belly name.  )

Mine have always been internal so early on, but I'm not sure about the full bladder thing...I've never needed on for an internal

every doctor's office is different, my first sonon was internal and they actually had me pee beforehand.

It's definitely going to be an internal. They wouldn't be able to see anything this early on if they did an external.

Lots of luck!!!! The sono should be an internal and they will make you pee in a cup beforehand.

My first sono was internal. No full bladder. Usually have to give a sample before you even go in the room.

My first sono was at 9 weeks and it was internal. I thought it would be more uncomfortable, but it was totally fine!

Probably internal, either way I've never needed a full bladder for an internal or external as of today and I'm now 15.5 weeks.
