Organic/specialty dry cleaner for baby items

I have an incredible baby afghan that my grandmother (whom I was named for) made for a baby to use over 40 years ago. It was never used, but packed in a closet. It is in perfect condition and I plan on using it for my daughter. Mom gave it to me before she passed away.

However, after 40 years in a closet, this heavy afghan needs to be freshened up a bit. It is not dirty, just a lil "old smelling" if that makes any sense. I would like to have it cleaned with as few chemicals (or at least organic) as possible. It is way too heavy for me to do by hand with Woolite or Dreft.

If anyone has any suggestions for a cleaner in the Western Nassau/Queens area who would specialize in this type of cleaning, I'd appreciate it. If anything happened to this afghan, I'd be rather upset.

(BTW - don't ask me why my mom did not use it for me or why she did not give it for my nieces or nephew to use. Maybe I was her favorite after allChat Icon )

I would try Pampers Dry Cleaners. They are a chain and have quite a few locations. Totally not related, but when I had my curtains installed, the guy said that Pampers is good for specialty items. The one near me is in Plainview off Old Country Road.

That may work. My ILs are not far from there. Thank you.

There is one on Dutch Broadway in I guess Elmont. It is near Dutch Broadway School on the same side of the street.
