OMG...I just opened my student loan bill and...
 
I regret ever going to grad school now!
Here's my question, is it better to consolidate? I have some from Sallie Mae and most are w/ another company. Are they able to give you a quote before you consolidate? I would not know what to do if I consolidated it and the payment were worse. It's practically double my car payment now!

If you consolidate, which may be a good idea, they will average all of your interest rates..I did mine through aes and they have been a pleasure..even gave me two discounts..one for paying electronically and one for paying on time for a consecutive amount of time...it's worth checking out...good luck!!

ETA that if I reconsolidated, it was the average..they may just give you a rate..either way, they were better than Sallie Mae, which stinks and messed up something on my credit report!

it is SO much better to consolidate! try getting rates from Nelnet (www.nelnet.net) - i used them and i am very happy with them!
