okay - I know that this topic has been done, about colds
what do you do for your child when he/she has a cold.. My 19 month old is coughing up a storm and just gt the runny nose. It is worse at night or when he is laying down. What can i do for him??? Please help me

I haven't been able to figure this out. I just let it run its course as tough as it is for both of us. I have had to pick her up while she is coughing in her sleep because she ends up vomiting sometimes. I've tried the elevated pillow, doesn't seem to work either.

Elevate the mattress by using a few towels underneath, and run a cool mist humidifier in the room at night. You can also use tylenol to ease the pain, but avoid motrin as it's anti-inflammatory properties may inhibit the bodies natural methods of fighting the infection.
Otherwise, it's just a waiting game, unfortunately
