Oil prices... Holy Moolie!!!!!!!!! UPDATE!
Our locked in price is about to expire and I just got quoted 4.96!!!!  and  and  We were offered a locked in rate with a ceiling of 5.46 for 3yrs, and I am still shopping around- anyone get a quote lately? Would you lock in for 1 yr or 3 yrs? This is pretty scary... I do not think it is ever going to go down. Also, what oil company gave you the rate? I am so scared it is only going to go higher! TIA!

We locked in at 3 yrs 5.15 or if it goes lower we will get it and capped off at 5.47. We are doing smart billing payments, so that way it is better, if we can get more interest made in the bank , I rather keep that money there and pay them by the month. President Bush makes me sick, and even when we get a new preisdent, if they decide to do something like drill in other places for oil, it is going to take a few yrs to bulit a refinary. It is incredible, what we have to do to heat our homes.

i need someone to tell me why gas from lipa / keyspan is cheaper???
My mom works for slomins, she gets a "discounted" rate... it's at 3.96 for next year, up from 2.3X!!

Is anyone else hopeful that when the administration changes next year, the prices MIGHT go down?

No, I honestly don't think it has to do too much with the admin. Demand around the world is up and OPEC isn't increasing production.

OMG...we locked in in January at 3.53 and that was up a dollar a gallon from last year, but these prices are INSANE!!!

when Bush was in the middle east he had a meeting with the saudi arabians over the price of oil and requested that they increase production to help lower the cost. their answer was a resounding "no". there was a press conference held and they said that if you want oil, pay for it. not only dont i expect the price to go down, i expect it to get much worse. the price of oil is set by OPEC and the administration doesnt have anything to do with it. however, i would bet anything that because of bush's actions in the middle east, theyre putting the screws to us. friggin' bush!

The prices will not go down for a long time. And while I am up in arms on what it cost to drive and what it will cost to heat my home this winter, we need oil prices to continue to rise. We have to find an alternative to oil. Our dependency on oil is of our own doing.

omg... didnt even realize the home heating is up that much. and in november when i locked in at 3.67 i was in shock...
oil prices going up definately are not good.. I still have to drive the same distance to work regardles

It will not go down substantially. China and India's governments both subsidize their oil, so, individually, they are not feeling the increase as we are and not cutting back.

 Bush is the one who was pushing for drilling in Alaska/ANWR all along
