Stinks that they didn't offer it to me - I'm over 30!!!! I'm seriously going crazy not knowing yet!

I usually have them more at the end of the day than in the morning - morning I wake up feeling great, then by the end of the day it feels like between gravity and all of the food I ate, my belly is pushing everything out and it hurts more.

When I went at my 10 week appointment (first with an OB) I asked about the Panarama and they said it wasn't covered bc I was under 35. Well at my 14 week app they brought it up to me saying it was now covered, so I figured why not. It also gave me an excuse to wait to tell people longer...ha.

SO you know how I said I have pain when I wake up? Well today after getting my intralipid infusion I was walking back from the train and I started having random cramps. We then went to dinner and I had one that went from my lower stomach all the way to my boobs. So weird. Not feeling so great, so I'm in bed.

By bedtime I definitely have a belly.

Interesting, I wonder if I would have been covered. At my 12 week appointment the doctor mentioned the NT scan which I had already done and then said we could talk about more testing but I may have cut him off and said I wasn't looking to do anything else. I didn't think I was covered so I didn't put much thought into whether I would want to do it or not. Chat Icon

*** OFFICIAL DECEMBER 2014 THREAD ***

I had my early anatomy scan today. The family genetic disorder I was worried about was not seen so that is good. Very happy about that.
However, the Dr. did bring to my attention that there was a hyperechoic bowel. Basically from what I could understand it was how the light hit off of the bowel that brought up the concern. He said since all my BW came back fine he wasn't concerned and these things usually clear themselves up. He said I could wait until the 20 week scan or go in the MFM at the hospital. Since I worry about everything I will go to MFM. I have a call into MFM and they will call me tomorrow once they get my chart and go from there. I'm really hoping this is nothing.

How are you all doing?

*** OFFICIAL DECEMBER 2014 THREAD ***

I'm sure it's fine, but good for you for being proactive.

I'm good, this little one is definitely an acrobat, I've got so much kicking and movement going on at this point, it's pretty impressive. It's much less noticeable during the day at work, but I still get it here and there. When I'm just waking up and/or just heading to bed I feel it the most - Friday night I felt so much movement I was so impressed! I just can't wait until DH can feel it on the outside - still too much padding (fat) for that. Anatomy scan is next Tuesday, and I just cannot wait! Does anyone know, in a healthy pregnancy, is that the last u/s?

Thanks...really hoping everything turns out good. Dr. Google gives me some hope but also some mixed reviews.

Thats great you are feeling the baby so much! I feel little cramp like feelings here and there but thats it. I hope your AS goes well! I'm not sure if thats the last US but I remember my OB saying something about another one when I had asked him at my first appointment.

Chat Icon It's very reassuring that your dr. isn't worried, but I can understand why you are- I'd be the same way. So hopefully the MFM will give you peace of mind. I'm sure everything will be fine!

Movement is getting stronger here now finally too! Good luck and have fun at your anatomy scan! Not sure if all practices are the same, but I'll have a growth sono at around 36 weeks to estimate how big the baby will be at delivery.

Edited to say 36 instead of 32 weeks for growth sono!

There's usually one more, the growth sono. I forget if it was at 32 or 36 weeks.

Still feeling pretty wimpy movements but they're getting a little more frequent. Some days I feel a lot and other days it's much less. My anatomy scan is next wednesday which can't come soon enough!Chat Icon

*** OFFICIAL DECEMBER 2014 THREAD ***

My father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last Monday. It has been devastatingly difficult, and today has been the first day that I have been able to gather my thoughts. It has been difficult to balance everything. I was partly afraid that the stress and trauma would negatively affect the baby, but it turns out that all of that is a proven old wives' tale.
I had my 20 week scan today, and the pictures are amazing. The baby is perfectly fine, and we confirmed that it is a baby boy. We are giving him my dad's name as his middle name. Chat Icon

You've been in my thoughts. What a wonderful tribute to your dad, giving his name to your little one. You and your children have a guardian angel watching over all of you. So glad to hear the baby is doing great. Take care of yourself. Chat Icon

So sorry to hear about your father Chat Icon . Glad to hear baby boy is doing well. Going through this loss at such an emotional/hormonal part of your life must have made this that much harder. Stay well.

I was so sorry to hear. Chat Icon I'm very glad to hear that baby boy is doing well, and as a pp said, he will have a wonderful guardian angel watching over him.

It is an old wives tale, I know so many people who lost parents during their pregnancy, and all babies were perfect when they arrived, and were absolute angels for their mommies.

I saw you posted this on another thread last week and I have been thinking about you. So sorry for your loss. Hang in there....it does get easier...speaking from experience (I lost my day years ago).

Glad the baby boy is doing well!

I have an appointment tomorrow with MFM Dr. at North Shore Manhasset to check the hyperechoic Bowel and to meet with the genetic counselor. REALLY REALLY hoping everything is fine. Just when I was finally getting used to this pregnancy and starting to tell people then this happens.

It's hard to ever relax. Hopefully it is nothing! So many people have abnormal scans, or bad blood work, or spotting, or any other issue and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. With DS1 I was told I was having a miscarriage only for the dr to call me over a week later to say "just kidding" - DS1 also had a murmur right before he was born that they were concerned about - it went away after birth. My nephew had something abnormal with his heart that caused concern from the doctors - he's perfectly fine. Yes, there are problems that do not resolve themselves, but try to hope for the best and not stress yourself too much!!!

Thank you! I'm trying to think positive. Since the BW all came back normal I'm hoping its just something that will resolve itself. Just hoping for a healthy baby!

*** OFFICIAL DECEMBER 2014 THREAD ***

Today's Update: I spent over 3 hours at the Hospital today! Crazy. I had a sono. The Dr. came in and did another sono. She was able to rule out my family genetic issue based on what she saw! The baby was moving all around and the dr said he looked good. The hyperechoic/ecocentric bowel was still seen. The Dr. wasn't too concerned bc that was the only soft marker found and my panarama and NT BW showed a very low risk for downs (1 in 8000). I am also not a carrier for cystic fibrosis. So we then sat down with the genetic counselor and she gave us all the options. Seems like its a very small chance it could be an issue. She offered us an amnio and additional bw. I do not feel like the amnio is worth it for such a small risk when my BW has come back good. We did some BW to test for things we might be carriers of and to test for any viral infections I may have had during pregnancy. The Dr. said it can also be related to the baby swallowing blood since I bled early in pregnancy.

So I'm really trying to remain positive since it seems like everyone involved isn't too concerned. Its gonna be a long 2 1/2 week wait until my next appointment back at the hospital.

I agree... From what I understand from the little reading I did after your original post, it seems like it's actually pretty common and that it clears up by birth. I'm glad the doctors were so calm and NOT alarmist.

Thanks! Yeah they have to cover themselves so I feel like even if there is a less than 1% chance of something, they tell you. They don't want any surprises when baby is born bc they think the patients will blame them.

Hoping all looks good at my next sono. More waiting...
