DH and I plan to start painting in the next couple of weeks. The furniture doesn't come until June, but we have to rearrange out whole house in order to turn our guest room into a nursery. Figured we better get a move on before I get too large to help.

I am so happy mine is done!! My DS is still in there right now but we are having to redo another room into a big boy room. We are team green and the nursery is neutral.
I think we finished the painting the week before I was do. I had the store hold the furniture until then.

Doing well! Booking my shower this week, feeling pretty good, baby's doing well, overall no complaints!

Side note: While looking at a shower venue over the weekend the banquet manager asked when I'm due. I said August 25th. He goes .. "Really??? That's going to be a BIG baby!!" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm 5' tall and I guess look big for 20wks but really .. thanks for that Chat Icon I love my bump! Between infertility, losses, and surrogacy, I began to accept the fact that I just may never have one again Chat Icon I carry it proud, as ginormous as it may be for right now haha

You can't win either way! Chat Icon I went to BBB last weekend with DH and we stopped a couple to ask them a question about their infant carseat/carrier. when I told her I was 20 weeks she looked at me and said "really you don't look pregnant". I got the same response when I went furniture shopping a few weeks ago too. Chat Icon

Congrats on your baby boy!!! We had our level II on Friday, everything is healthy with baby, thank god.....but I have a slight issue, something called uterine artery notching. Doc thinks it could have something to do with me having lupus.....it's something to do with the bloodflow between the uterus and placenta.....so I'm at a higher risk for preeclampsia or having a small baby (intrauterine growth restriction)......but, they'll monitor me closely, I have to go in every 2 weeks for now and have growth sonos for the rest of my pregnancy. I have a follow up next week since I'm switching OB's (going back to my old practice since I was unhappy w/ I've been seeing), so I'll bring up taking Lovenox and see what they say (I'm already taking baby aspirin daily and MFM doc at Northshore said that's what he'd normally recommend, so I guess I have no choice but to wait and see what happens, ugh! Just when I thought I was in the clear with the level II, more to worry about! Chat Icon

Honestly .. I am RELIEVED for you that you are going to be switching to someone who will give you lovenox! That's literally just the thing that lovenox is prescribed for!

Well I'll see what she says when I see her next week, but I know she seemed to respect my opinions last time, she realizes I'm the type of patient who does her homework......the tipping point w/ the OB I was seeing (you know who lol), was when I went in on Friday they realized they FORGOT to ever do my prenatal bloodwork, um yea, that's usually done around 8 weeks, I've seen 3 doctors there and NO ONE realized until I was 21 weeks?? Bizarre. In any event, I don't have the energy to stay on top of them all the time, I have enough to worry about! I'm kind of nervous if I go on Lovenox, but I think it would be for the best (unless I get lucky and this notching thing resolves itself by the next appointment!! Chat Icon

Oyyyyy ... yeah good you're getting out of there because there's enough on your mind when you're pregnant and staying on top of which blood work you did or didn't get is THEIR responsibility!

There's nothing to fear about taking lovenox Chat Icon I take it daily. It stinks. It's a needle you jab into yourself once (for some ladies, twice) a day... but once it's done it's done and it's a small price to pay for a healthier outcome! Chat Icon Chat Icon

that's exactly what I have to remind myself.....as much as I hate needles I will do whatever I have to for a healthy (full term!) outcome! Funny enough as I did a little more research into this notching issue, I found quite a few ladies with MTHFR have this problem!! So, honestly, this further supports my thoughts that I should've been put on Lovenox from conception.....thank god I've been taking baby aspirin, and I did read some women have switched from aspirin to Lovenox around 22 weeks when they have this notching issue, so that seems like the path I'm heading in. I hope they can check the notching thing again at my OB visit next week, but I have a feeling I need the machines at Northshore to check (which is on the 22nd), I also have the fetal echocardiogram on the 24th, April is just like non-stop doctor visits for me! lol

You will for sure need an advanced machine that can measure blood flow. Some of the machines aren't equipped to do that.

I hear ya about non stop dr visits but ya know what? seeing that kid just never gets old!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I think when he's born I'll just sit and stare at him for 8wks straight. I won't even be able to feed him or change his diaper because I'll be in some crazy long trance of a stare with utter amazement. Chat Icon

eta: I wonder if my dh will go for that as an excuse for why I don't wanna change a poopy diaper!! Chat Icon

We had our 20 week sono yesterday 4/9. All looks great. Baby was measuring 20w 4d which puts us at August 22 now instead of the 19th but IMO it's still too soon to get an accurate date. DS was 10 days early so who know when this one will come. We still don't know the gender but to my surprise the tech switched on the 4d and it was awesome. Baby had left hand covering left eye but then took it off. As if he/she wanted to play peekaboo which DS loves to do with us. Something also cool was that after bringing home the pics and looking at DS, they have the same chin lol. On another note I gained 7 lbs in 4 weeks which was surprising but still only up 13 lbs total. Guess I'll just keep an eye on myself. I go back May 6.

I have some summer maternity stuff from last year, mainly only short sleeved shirts, I think you can get away w/ summer dresses if they're flowy enough! Congrats on finding out you're having a girl btw!! I'll be delivering at NS Manhasset, they were great last year so I'm really looking forward to going back there under happier circumstances!!

Is anyone else doing cord blood banking? If so which bank are you using?

Is everyone that's registering done? I have to wrap it up in the next week or so, shower invites are going out after Mother's day, eeek!!!! Feels like there is no time to get anything done!!! Chat Icon
