NPR: My grandfather passed away last night
He was suffering from dementia for the past 3 years, and the past year he just kept getting worse and worse. It was so hard watching him slowly deteriorate. I find comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering, but I am so sad when I think that my son will never remember him 
When I was pregnant with DS my grandmother passed away, and now when I'm pregnant again, I lost my grandfather. Its amazing thinking about the "circle of life", but I just wish my children had a chance to know how amazing he was 
I also was sitting with him the moment he passed and even though it was so peaceful, I just cant seem to shake that image from my mind...I'm sure with time it will fade and the pregnancy hormones arent helping either, as I am an emotional wreck, so I just needed to come on here and vent a little.

I'm so sorry. We went through this with my grandfather too and now my one of my grandmother's (his wife) is getting bad as well.

I am so sorry.
My grandmother suffered from dementia. She passed last March. I completely understand how difficult is was to him suffer.
