NPR but I wanna get my hair Japanese straightened...
maybe sometime next week....where can i go where is isnt going to be a million dollars but where they will do a good job...i hate my hair SO MUCH, i just wanna have it be silky and smooth and straight....

i went to hair village in queens and it was only $210....don't expect anything fancy AT ALL. But they did a great job on my hair.

I went to a place in Plainview (recommended by Pinky and Fireislandlove) -- they did a great job - and let me tell you - it is the best thing with having a kid (or in your case two  ) - you just hop out of the shower and go!
ETA: it was cheap too - only 250!

I don't have the contact info but if you do a search on here it's been posted a few times.
Beth, posts a lot of NFR, has gone there several times.
Just a tip, if anyone's hair is a bit curly/frizzy blow it out first.
I went there with straight out of the shower hair (shoulder blade length, very wavy, curly/frizzy) and they wanted to charge me over $220 because they claimed my hair would be way down my back once it was straightened I had to go back and forth on this with them while Barb was sitting next to me searching LIF for another poster's old post (very long and very curly) of her Top Point experience when she paid under $200 for much longer hair. Good times, good times.

I ONLY use Tracey- I can not recommend anyone else there
she charges me about $200 - and my hair AIR dries perfectly
tell you know me- you are my friend/cousin etc (don't say sister- she knows her )

Used to go to Tracy at Top Point. Loved her, but parking was a pain. Now I go to Bella Bella in Bayside. Only 200.00. Love JHS.
Use to go to the Hair Affair on Bell, but she closed!! She charged only 150.00 for jhs.

or go sunday- free parking!

i also went to the place in planview based on rec. from here.
i had my 2nd touch up done in april. i love it so much!
it lasts me about 10 mths. my hair is not damaged at all.

I used Top Point twice (Janice did my hair) and I loved the way it came out. This time I am thinking of trying a new place closer to home with the new baby and pumping and stuff. I was thinking of trying New Mode.

Personally, I wouldn't. JMO, but it they are pretty strong chemicals they use. Or maybe pump and dump for most of a day.
When I got mine done one of the women there was visibly pregnant... that can't be good for her or the baby... it definitely wasn't a well ventilated area.

Which hotel?
it right across from the parking lot- I am not sure of the name- but if you stay on main street and make a right on the next street that you can after you pass top point
the parking lot is on the left

I've heard great things about hair village like another person said above, its in Queens, no appojntments and its not a fancy place but my freinds who have done it, it came out great, and they are very picky. Thats where i think I will wind up, she paid 150 for shoulder length hair just a few weeks ago
