NPR---Need ideas for a mother/daughter getaway
So my mom wants to go away next week for a mother/daughter beach/spa type getaway before the baby comes ...preferably Hamptons or maybe Montauk....
any suggestions...
Nice hotel in an area close to the beach..

ive gone to montauk every summer since i was 7! i always loved it there.....with that said....surf club is my fav place...pp was right about gurneys it is gorgeous but pricey....royal atlantic is nice......ocean beach has an indoor pool which is always convenient in semi cool or bad weather...then there is the luxury places like the monatuk yacht club and the montauk manor.....good luck have fun!

I would NOT recommend Gurneys. I went there with my MIL and SIL and we thought it was totally trashy. I have heard good things about Eastwind but never been
