Not sure how to feel...
DH is on the phone with one of his friends. He was in our bridal party and I've known him since DH and I started dating... but we're not real close. We go out to lunch or dinner w/ him once in a blue moon and DH sees him more than I do b/c they're both in the same field and work on projects together from time to time.
He just called and they were talking about work. All of the sudden I hear DH say "Yeah, she's good. We're still working on trying to have kids. We're getting ready to do another IUI- which isn't in-vitro but something like it. But soon I'll have to give her a whole bunch of shots before that happens. The whole thing just really suckkkks."
I'll start by saying I'm GLAD DH has someone else he can talk to about it besides me... but I felt like a lab rat when he was talking.... I just wish I wouldn't have heard it.  My eyes started tearing up and I'm sitting here crying b/c he's right- I'm getting ready to take a whole bunch more shots (10-14 or more than last time b/c lupron has been added) and it really does suckkkk. I'm so mad/sad/depressed/(insert your descriptive word here)... UGH. Vent over...

I think its hard to hear about your issues when other people are talking about it. But as long as you are ok with him sharing with others, I think it is good he is able to talk about it with other people.  javascript:FEmote('');

I'm sorry--I know what you mean. To hear about what you're going through from the mouth of someone else--it's almost like it hits home more, you know?
I think most of us are in what I like to call "survival mode"--if you're like me, you just do it and try not to think about it. It's kinda like an out-of-body experience. But when you hear someone else talking about it, it makes it real.
In any event, I hope you feel better Keep your chin up!

Wait wait wait...dont' get upset. He's talking to his buddy in guy talk. He's got to down play it. It's a case of men are from mars woman are from venus. And we are lab rats 
Seriously, DH talks about it the same way. You got hormones in you so everything is much more intense. Don't worry.

I think men have to express themselves in a way they feel comfortable. Im pretty sure that DH kept everything we dealt with to himself because that is just his way. Im glad your DH had someone he could talk to.
We are truly different from men in regard to how we handle such serious matters as IF.

ITA. Although I can see how it upset you. Sometimes hearing it out loud just makes it more real and more upsetting

My DH has one friend who also did IUI with his wife and I know DH confides in him about everything but it would be really strange and uncomfortable to hear the conversation. I also have not seen the guy in about a year and a half- they live in Mass. I can totally relate to your feelings in having hear that though. I think its totally normal for you to feel that way.
