I just had someone say something to me regarding my pregnancy and I'm not sure if I should feel offended or not?
Ok I'm going into my 29th week. There is a lady who sees me all the time, and always asks me "how are you doing?". So..today I'm in the staff kitchen area on our floor, and she just happens to come in. She says "how are you doing", I say "I'm good..only a few months left". She says "REALLY??!!! You don't even look THAT big". I didn't know what to say..so I smile..and she says "wait until next month...OH BOY and with this HEAT..forget it..THEN it's going to be BAD!!...but you look great".
Umm...ok???  So does that mean I look big..but just not VERY big? And..did she HAVE to remind me about the heat that is coming up..as if I don't know it's coming???
Ahh..maybe I'm just being super sensitive but comments like this annoy me.
Ok vent over....

That is why I said I wasn't sure if I should be offended or not. I guess the "THAT big" part bothered me..because I feel HUGE.

I know, lots of people mention the heat to me too...like I should have planned being pg around the seasons?!

Oh God I get crazy comments every single day here at work. It's like make fun of the pregnant lady club. I am trying to get thicker skin, because I am sensitive, but it's hard!

probably not a big deal.
I am almost 29 weeks and everyone looks surpised when I tell hem how far along I am too. I only work 1 day a week and today is the day and maybe 5 people said it already to me today. Most say I look too small. The only part I hate is when they justify it and say well you must make small babies or things like are you eating enough - that annoys me for some reason (but at least I can say what my son weighed 3 weeks early so they know my past baby wasn't small). But i know how you feel - sometimes you aren't sure how to react - it catches you off guard. I like a dope feel the need to add something like well I still have 2 more months - I am sure I'll get huge instead of just accepting what they say for what it is.
The heat thing - wouldn't bother me at all.

nearly EVERYONE has mentioned the heat and swelling to me - including my own mother because I was born during the summer - almost 36 years ago, no AC, she said she was SO swollen etc. i'm terrrifed. there's nothing we can do unfortunately
